Our toddlers are naturally curious about and interested in bugs and insects especially nowadays that we spend more time at the park if the weather is fine . Childhood is the time to encourage and nurture early interest in nature. Some of them were so curious what’s under the rocks, and dry leaves so being outside for the park helps them to know and value the nature.
Aside from letting them explore the world around them, we also introduce the bugs and insects on our lesson for this week by using flashcards .They were so excited whenever they see the real photos and can recognize some in english. The most popular one is Roly – Poly (Dango Mushi or Pillbug).

We also had a new song about bugs in the tune of Wheels on the Bus.
The bugs in the air fly up and down
Up and down, Up and down
The bugs in the air fly up and down
All through the day

The spiders on the bush go spin a web
Spin a web, spin a web
The spider on the bush go spin a web
All through the day

The Crickets in the field hop up and down
Hop up and down , hop up and down
The Crickets in the field hop up and down
All through the day

The Bees in the hive go buzz buzz buzz
Buzz buzz buzz
Buzz buzz buzz
The Bees in the hive go buzz buzz buzz
All through the day…

Sumire Class also had the same lesson but we add some ladybug color matching activity for them to know recall the colors. Tulip class also joined us on this week’s lesson for them to get use on listening on our universal language which is English.

Song of the month: Rain Rain Go Away, How’s the Weather.
